From April to June 15th, the base of Sports in Open Space is at disposal of schools that want to organize one day (or more) educational outings in a river environment, practicing kayak, canyoning and rafting.
An outdoor adventure in a valley of uncontaminated beauty: the Trebbia Valley.
The Sports in Open Space team is formed by expert professionals recognized by many Sport Federations (Firaft - Italian Rafting Federation; Fick - Italian Canoe and Kayak Federation; AIC - Italian Canyoning Association).

The project refers to a stay addressed to students of Primary and Secondary Schools from all over the world.
It provides for the accomplishment of normal didactic activities, in addition to some proposals aimed to environmental mountain characteristics (flora, fauna, traditions, etc), with a programme centred on mountain sports (excursions, climbs, mountain bike, cross-country ski, etc.) and on sport disciplines made easier by a comfortable gymnasium and some rich sport facilities.
The programme will be also enriched by entertainment activities and moments of interculture favoured by the presence of foreign Schools and Cultural Groups.
Outdoor school PROJECT
Educational outings to the environment practicing kayak, canyoning, rafting, orienteering, routes on hung ropes, team building, archery and climb. An outdoor adventure in the uncontaminated valleys of the Piacenza Apennines!
WHY OUTDOOR SCHOOL?
To practice sport activities during the growth period is very important: physical movement helps the motor and socioemotional development. Therefore sport is not only an essential formative activity, it is education as well.
Besides, the possibility to practice motor activities in a healthy and uncontaminated environment adds some evident benefits and formative elements to educational outings to the environment.
These are the considerations that leaded us to propose some outdoor sport activities to schools and to offer a series of instructive, absorbing and amusing didactic outings.
WHERE
The Piacenza Apennine’s valleys are the ideal playground to teach outdoor activities to young people: along the Trebbia River it is possible to practice kayak and rafting; the streams which flow into the Trebbia River hollowed some ideal ways for canyoning. The wild and uncontaminated area offers the possibility of countless orienteering routes: in the thick woods it is possible to work with ropes and cableways to move in height from one tree to another, while the rocky walls permit to train for climbing.
The difficulty and duration of the routes will be chosen according to the age of participants.
6-DAYS EXCURSION:
3 days at Sports in Open Space – Val Trebbia (kayak/soft rafting, canyoning, basic orienteering, team building) + 3 days at Adventure Academy – Val d’Arda (advanced orienteering, climb, paths on hung ropes, team building, archery).
First day:
Arrival within 10.00 a.m. and rooms accommodation.
Staff introduction, materials assignation and groups division.
At 10.30 am - 12.30 am: theorical briefing, dressing and swimming activities in the river.
Lunch break.
At 2.00 pm - 5.00 pm: descent by kayak/soft rafting.
Dinner.
Short night activity with team building.
Overnight stay at the base of Sports in Open Space.
Second day:
Breakfast at the base.
At 10.00 am - 12.00 am: theorical briefing and propedeutical canyoning class at a climbing wall.
Lunch at the base of Sports in Open Space.
At 2.00 pm - 5.00 pm: basic canyoning descent.
Dinner.
Short night activity with team building.
Overnight stay at the base of Sports in Open Space.
Third day:
Breakfast at the base.
At 10.00 am - 11.00 am: theorical orienteering.
At 11.00 am - 2.00 pm: departure for orienteering route by squad with picnic lunch.
Return and time for a shower; greetings.
Departure for Adventure Academy, dinner and overnight stay at Adventure Academy, with arrival within 8.00 pm and rooms accommodation. Staff introduction, dinner and overnight stay at the base of Adventure Academy.
Fourth day:
Breakfast at the base.
At 9.00 am - 1.00 pm: classroom for briefing on orienteering activities.
Lunch at the base of Adventure Academy.
At 3.00 pm - 7.00 pm: route on hung ropes, preparation of the rucksack.
Picnic dinner with night camping out.
Fifth day:
Breakfast at the base.
At 9.00 am - 1.00 pm: climb on artificial wall, descent by rope.
Lunch at the base of Adventure Academy.
At 3.00 pm - 7.00 pm: team building activity, archery.
Dinner and overnight stay at the base of Adventure Academy.
Sixth day:
Breakfast at the base.
At 9.00 am - 1.00 pm: sheave, lunch.
Departure.
PRICE:
€ 418,00 + for transfer from the base of Sports in Open Space to the base of Adventure Academy.
The price includes: activities, technical material rent, full board accommodation from the first day’s lunch to the last day’s lunch.
Free fee will be allowed to 2 teachers every 25 youth.
WHAT TO WEAR
For river activities: wool socks, water sport wool or pile or capilene shirt, water sport boot, bathing suit, torch.
Normal wear for leisure time (gym shoes, tracksuit, anorak, a sweater, T-shirts, trousers, wool and cotton socks, cap).
For the night: sleeping bed, toilet case, slippers and bathrobe.
Our structure is placed at 50 mt from the Trebbia River, in the village of Marsaglia di Cortebrugnatella. It is organized on 2 floors with a wide garden: on the ground floor there are a kitchen and a dining room, in addition to a sport material warehouse and 2 dressing-rooms with showers and toilets; on the first floor there are some bedrooms divided in female and male group. Every room has bunk beds and wide common bathrooms.
Our structure is a cabin placed in the Provincial Park of Mount Moria, in the Municipality of Morfasso (PC). The cabin consists of 6 bedrooms with bunk beds and bathroom in every room on the first floor, a coffee bar and restaurant on the ground floor and a hall for theorical briefings and the whole park at guests’ disposal for outdoor activities.

On top of the mountain, at about 1000 metres altitude, you will find a wonderful landscape to be discovered, recovering your strength with genuine food. Children and boys who stay for a minimum of three days pay 34 euro per day (overnight stay, breakfast and two meals formed by first course, second course, dessert or fruit by choice).

_first proposal
€ 20,00 per child: arrival by bus in the morning, little snack with flat bread, pizza, drinks and fruit juices, accomodation inside the campsite for plays or walkings in the woods. Lunch agreed with teachers; relaxation or excursions in the afternoon. Little snack before leaving.
_second proposal
Overnight stay and breakfast € 10,00 per child; possible lunch or snacks to be agreed with teachers.
