APENNINES FOLK FESTIVAL
Folk Music Review of the Four Provinces.
 
The mountains become protagonists in the tradition and folk culture restoration.
The Apennines Folk Festival exploits the traditional northwest Apennines area’s musical repertoire (in particular, Piacenza’s mountains and the so called “Four Provinces” area), one of the most important in Europe.
An event in cooperation with the ‘Piacenza’s Apennines Product Club’, with the participation of some groups of the Italian northwest area, such as Café Courente, Enerbia and Francesco Bonomini.

In cooperation with the “Piacenza’s Apennines Product Club”.
Groups of Italian northwest area:
Café Courente/ Enerbia/Francesco Bonomini.
With the cooperation of the Cultural Association “Ballando si impara”.
 
June, 21
Caminata at 9.30 pm
Concert in the village on the occasion of the Tidone Valley Festival.
Trio Tresca, musical tradition of the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines.
With the participation of the group Energia that will present the Piacenza’s Apennines musical tradition and a personal homage to the Tidone Valley traditions.

Music at the Perino waterfalls
Adriano Sangineto, ghotic harp, with the Ensamble Eudaimonia.
Concert of ancient medieval music.

Nibbiano at 9.30 pm
Baraban: one of the most important and long-lived Italian groups presents its own interpretation of the Lombard musical tradition.

Bobbio at 9.30 pm
Concert in the church of San Colombano’s cloister
Tre Martelli and Enerbia
Italian Northwest musical tradition: dances, songs and instruments of the low Piemonte Region and the Apennines’ Four Provinces.

Trio Adriatica: Italian Northeast musical tradition with the group of Roberto Tombesi, founder of the Calicanto group.

Open air dance at Acqua Nera, along the panoramic road Coli-Pradovera.

Poetry and music during the night of San Lorenzo
With the participation of the 95-years-old chansonnier Pino Ballerini, Guglielmo Bedani, Maurizio Caldini and with the singer-song writers Davide Cignatta and Davide Dabusti.
Special guest: Francesco Benozzo, celtic harp.

Vesimo, Zerba at 9.30 pm
Dinner and dances in the small village of the Val Boreca, heart of the Four Provinces’ musical tradition.
With the participation of Ettore Lesini Bani and Franco Guglielmetti, traditional duo fife and accordion.

Vinum Bonum
Old and folk music of the Piacenza’s Apennines.
 
September, 11 - 13
Vigoleno at 9.30 pm
In cooperation with the Italian Network of Folk Culture and with the Provinces Festival (guided by the Province of Turin and supported by the Ministry of  Cultural Heritage).
- September, 11: ‘Tenores San Gavino di Oniferi’, one of the most relevant Sardinian vocal groups.
- September, 12: Mario Incudine - Sicilian actor, musician and researcher - and his group present a never seen before portrait of Sicily between tradition and innovation.
- September, 13: Massimo Bubola, Italian folk-rock poet and famous partner of De Andrè, presents the best of his musical production.

Piozzano at 3.00 pm
Festival of honey and the Luretta Valley’s typical products
Instrumental music, songs and a lot of joy with the Piemonte Region’s musical tradition interpreted by Ariondassa group.
 
October, 19
Pecorara at 3.00 pm
Truffle and mountains products festival
Entertainment and folk dances with Aire D’Oc, musical tradition of the Occitan Valleys, and with the Association “Ballando si impara”.
 
October, 25
Cerignale at 9.30 pm
End of summer festival
With Banda Brisca, Ligurian musical tradition.
The event is organized by the Province of Piacenza in cooperation with the Emilia Romagna Region, Soprip and the Piacenza’s Apennines municipalities. Art Director: Maddalena Scagnelli.
